St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School Term Review and Christmas Celebrations

by | Dec 19, 2025 | Elm Room, News from the Rooms

This term the children have been exploring mark making using big and small movements, developing both gross and fine motor control through varied mark-making experiences. There has been wonderful engagement with role play, particularly caring for babies, which helps children develop empathy and nurturing skills whilst exploring family relationships. The children have also been exploring books, building their love of reading and developing early literacy skills through stories and pictures.

Christmas Celebrations

For Christmas we have been making cards for our families, creating personal gifts to share with loved ones. We held Christmas parties where we ate food, danced to music, and played pass the parcel, celebrating together as a community. The children enjoyed decorating the Christmas tree, bringing festive cheer to our nursery.

Tooth Brushing Routine

The children are always very interested in brushing their teeth before they go home, developing important hygiene habits. We listen to or sing the tooth brushing song to make this routine fun and engaging: Brush your teeth – BBC Teach.
