Oak Room Explores Nature’s Treasures in Sunny Garden Adventures

by | May 23, 2025 | News from the Rooms, Oak Room

The children in Oak Room at St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School have been making the most of the beautiful sunny weather by exploring natural resources and creating stunning transient art and patterns in the garden.

Using wooden cable reels as their canvas, our young artists have been carefully arranging shells, pinecones, and wooden discs into beautiful displays.

This hands-on outdoor learning experience has provided wonderful opportunities for the children to develop their fine motor skills, creativity, and understanding of natural materials. It’s been delightful to watch them concentrate as they explore different textures and create their own unique transient art and patterns, learning that art doesn’t have to be permanent to be meaningful and beautiful.
