Recently we learnt about the celebration of Lunar/Chinese New Year (Year of the Dragon). We explored how the texture of noodles changed from hard to soft after cooking, looked at Chinese writing and created our own using paint and charcoal, read stories, explored artefacts, did lion dancing and watched videos about how families celebrate. We also explored tweezers, tongs and chopsticks, changed our home areas into Chinese restaurants and tasted real tea, fortune cookies, noodles, dim sum and spring rolls (yum!).
