Oak Class at St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School has had an amazing start to the new nursery school year. Children have been busy getting to know their new key people, rekindling old friendships and making new ones. The focus this term has been on settling in, building relationships and finding out more about each other, helping everyone feel happy, safe and confident in their new environment.
With so much sunshine during September, the garden has been a favourite place to play and explore. The bikes have been incredibly popular, with children developing their physical skills as they ride, steer and navigate around others. The climbing frame has also provided lots of opportunities for children to challenge themselves, build confidence and develop their coordination.
Children have shown a particular interest in painting unusual objects and resources. In response, staff have created plenty of opportunities for creative exploration, encouraging children to experiment with different materials, colours and techniques. Alongside developing their creativity and curiosity, children have also been learning the importance of working together by helping to tidy and clean up after activities.
It has been wonderful to see children settling so well into Oak Class, and we are looking forward to an exciting term of learning and discovery together.
