by | Mar 13, 2026 | News, Newsletters

Coming up in March’s newsletter from St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School you can read about the wonderful spring atmosphere with children experiencing the elements in the garden through splashing in puddles, playing in mud and exploring hailstones.

The newsletter highlights learning across all classes, with Elm Class celebrating Lunar New Year through Chinese writing, rice exploration and role play in their Chinese restaurant, alongside counting activities with Ten Little Monsters and Ten Little Dinosaurs, Beech Class building with bricks enhanced with builder hats, cones and clipboards whilst exploring their core book Dear Zoo and singing favourite songs including Sandy Girl/Boy, Oak Class continuing creative play workshops with Travelling Light Theatre Company, learning about Lunar New Year celebrations, and exploring a new hairdressers/barbers setup with books about diversity and uniqueness like My Hair by Hannah Lee, whilst Fir Class has been learning about Lunar New Year, creating a new loose parts area in the garden, and reading books about feelings like Ruby’s Worry as children prepare for school transitions.

You’ll find helpful Easter-themed literacy and numeracy tips, thanks to Kate Webber who is leaving after 8 years as a governor, and information about the successful World Book Day celebration that raised £37.

There are important details about progress development meetings on 25th March for Oak/Fir and 31st March for Beech/Elm, an expression of interest form for summer holiday club, the returners form deadline of Monday 27th April, a new lunchtime menu from April, and a welcome invitation for parent volunteers.
