News From Oak Room – Magic Beans and Watercolours

by | Mar 25, 2025 | News from the Rooms, Oak Room

We started this term with a new story called Jack and the Beanstalk.

After sharing the story, the children wanted to plant their own magic beans, just like Jack. Each child planted a bean in a separate pot, and we waited to see what happened. We had to be patient, but soon enough, the children noticed shoots appearing out of the soil. We have now planted the beans in the garden, and some of the children have made signs to let others know that there are beans growing.

We love to spend time outside, especially now that we have been blessed with some spring sunshine. The children have started to notice changes in the garden. There are buds on the trees, and insects are beginning to buzz and crawl about. In the classroom, we started to paint daffodils and tulips using watercolours. The children love experimenting with different art media.
