The Bristol City Council’s Highways Service has recently issued a Public Consultation document which sets out proposed improvements for pedestrians and cyclists along the Feeder Road by way of widening the footway. Widening the footway will involve restricting parking along this road. There is also a proposal to introduce a parking restriction in the industrial estates to the south of the Feeder Road, which will affect the roads where parents/staff of St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School park. Here at the Nursery we actively encourage our families to walk and cycle (and provide a buggy park and cycle rack for that use), however we are seriously concerned at the effect this will have on many families.
Objections must be lodged at the Council by 31 December 2014. Please lodge your objection to Andrew.Spicer@bristol.gov.uk before this date. If we do not submit our comments the Council will assume there are no objections to the proposed measures. An example of how to respond: “We strongly object to the proposed parking restrictions in the Feeder Road area. My child attends St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School and this will severely affect my ability to drop off/pick up my child safely”.
