Dear Parent/carers

It is with great pleasure that we announce the favourable outcome of the Planning Committee decision today on the proposed construction of a gas-fuelled power plant near the school. As a result of the passion and strength of feeling of the community, the Planning Committee were unable to approve it. We would like to relay our sincere thanks to the parents/carers, children, staff, governors, associate members, residents, community groups, Acorn Union, Extinction Rebellion, councillors, MPs, RADE and Marshmakers who attended the meeting today, signed the petition, sent objections and wrote powerful, articulate statements. A special thanks goes to Stuart Phelps who has campaigned tirelessly against this and a previous such proposal. We are incredibly proud of the community we serve and have always believed it is a special place with special people. Today’s “togetherness” proved the passion we all have to make a difference to the lives of the children and families in the local area and the will to make our community a great place to live, work and learn in the future.
