African Caribbean Day, a roaring success

by | Jul 20, 2017 | News

Luckily the weather stayed dry for our annual African Caribbean Day.  The children enjoyed a day of workshops including making (and eating) fruit kebabs, necklaces, shakers, flags, hats and collages, listening to music and stories from Africa and the Caribbean and having their faces painted. ‘Mandinka Roots’ held music workshops during the day where we learnt to play drums and danced.  The afternoon saw yet more dancing when ‘Mandinka Roots’ entertained us in the garden and we sampled exotic refreshments.

Thank you to all the parents/carers, relatives, volunteers, staff, children, governors, visitors and ‘Mandinka Roots’ who helped to make it such a great success.
