Apple Day is an annual celebration, held in October, of apples and orchards in the UK. As we grow apples here at St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School we are holding our own apple celebration on Friday 17th October. The children will be taking part in apple-related activities during the day. Donations of apple cake would be gratefully received (however due to allergy, they must be nut-free).
The National Trust will be here in the afternoon to press apples. We would be very grateful if you could bring in some local apples and small, clean plastic bottles and give them to your class team in advance – each child can then make their own juice to take home.
Parent/carers are also welcome to come along to see the apples being pressed from 1.30-3.30 pm. If your child does not normally attend on Friday afternoon, they are very welcome to attend and will stay with their parent/carer.
There will also be an apple related raffle.
