On Tuesday Georgie from ZooLab came to introduce us to some of her special friends. ZooLab deliver exciting, memorable and high quality animal handling experiences within the education sector.
ZooLab’s classic Minibeasts Workshop is designed for nursery age children to provide a gentle introduction to the fascinating world of classification. Georgie introduced us to some of ZooLab’s invertebrates, including a mollusc (‘Turbo’ the African land snail), a crustacean (hermit crab) and an arachnid (‘Rosie’ the tarantula). We also got to meet a slithery, scaly vertebrate (‘Caspar’ the ghost corn snake) and a furry, long-tailed vertebrate (‘Snow White’ the rat). Not only did we learn facts about the beasts, we were able to hold the snail, touch the snake and stroke the rat. We also acted out what it was like to crawl like a snake and how to wash like a rat.
