We understand that applying for a primary school reception place can be challenging for some families, particularly when English is not a first language or when navigating unfamiliar systems.
To support parents and carers through this process, Schools of Sanctuary Education Champions, part of Bristol City of Sanctuary, are hosting a free information workshop on Friday, 9th January, from 10am to 11:30 am at Easton Family Centre on Beaufort Street, BS5 0SQ.
The session will provide clear guidance on how to choose and apply for a reception place for your child. The manager of Bristol City Council’s Admissions Team will be attending to explain the application process step by step and answer any questions you may have.
Translation will be available in both Arabic and Somali to ensure all families can fully understand and participate in the session.
If you have a child who will be starting primary school in September 2026 and would find additional support with the application process helpful, we encourage you to attend this workshop. It is a valuable opportunity to get expert advice and have your questions answered in a supportive environment.
