New School Crossing Patrol

We are delighted to advise you that Bristol City Council have now recruited a new School Crossing Patrol to assist pupils and parents going to and from St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School.

Her name is Charmaine Turfrey and her duty times will be 8.30– 9.00 am, 11.45 am– 12.45 pm and 3.15 – 3.45 pm Monday to Friday.

If you are walking to Nursery then please walk to the ‘Lollipop Lady’ and cross with her.  The School Crossing Patrol is legally allowed to stop traffic for anyone (child or adult) who wishes to cross at her crossing point.  So don’t be shy – you are never too old to cross with a ‘Lollipop Lady’.

If you drive to school please do not park around the corners of the car park entrance or right up close to the crossing point as we need to ensure that there is good visibility for all those wishing to cross the road.  Leaving the corners empty of parked cars will also ease the congestion that is created when drivers insist on parking in this way.

Please support the School Crossing Patrol and if you have any questions or queries regarding this service please do not hesitate to contact me.  Frances Dansie – 0117 9224464 or frances.dansie@bristol.gov.uk.
