We would strongly encourage parents to object to the nearby generation facility via the following website:
Application Ref: 15/02310/F
Title: Proposed installation of diesel powered generators and associated infrastructure for the provision of a Flexible Generation Facility to provide energy balancing services via the capacity market for the National Grid. | Avonbank Feeder Road Bristol BS2 0TH
Proposed Comments for Parents:
“As the parent of a child who attends St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School, I would like to strongly object to the proposed planning application to install a flexible generating facility consisting of 48 diesel generators less than 200m from the School.
The proposal is not in keeping with Bristol Core Strategy, BS23 because, due to its close proximity, the development will adversely impact the amenity of St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School by reason of noise and fumes pollution.
Furthermore, the applicants’ Noise Impact Assessment is fundamentally flawed because it ignores the close proximity of the school (a noise sensitive location as defined by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health) claiming the closest noise sensitive location is in excess of 400 m from the proposed site.”
