Communication and Language

At St Philip’s Marsh Nursery School we give children opportunities to experience a rich language environment; to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves; and to speak and listen in a range of situations.  Being able to communicate is one of the most important skills in life. For many reasons some children find communication difficult.  At St Philip’s Marsh Nursery we also use the language programme, Makaton, to help people communicate using signs and symbols.  Makaton is integrated into our everyday school life.  If you would like to find out more about Makaton please visit their website. www.makaton.org/aboutMakaton/

We also run a series of working groups with a small number of children to enhance and develop their language and communication skills.  Click here for more information.
